Review
Anyone who is familiar with Nouman Ali Khan and his speaking style will find that his book Revive Your Heart – Putting Life in Perspective reads in a similar fashion. In fact, it is easy to start reading it in his voice as one progresses through it and envisioning him speaking to an audience. However, for those who are not familiar with him, it could become an arduous read as there is a lot of repetition for reinforcement as is common practice for many western Muslim public speakers, but which does not lend itself to prose outside of such contexts. The book is divided into five parts, starting with Du[a’, and ending with the Akhirah. This helps to group relevant topics together and almost makes it feel like a lifestyle guide. The chapters themselves are laid out in short, easy to follow, concise examples and discussion of the topics. While it discusses important aspects of this life, the overriding message is to focus on the Akhirah.
